This ground-up construction project replaced and upgraded an active pedestrian port of entry facility, enhancing both functionality and security. The facility remained fully operational 24/7 throughout construction, requiring meticulous planning and phased utility rerouting. Temporary generator power ensured uninterrupted service during the transition.

Designed to achieve LEED Gold certification, the new building features high-performance HVAC systems, a recycled greywater system, advanced lighting, and an integrated building energy management system. Given its critical government function, the project was performed under strict Homeland Security regulations, including background checks for all personnel on site.
