This multi-phase capital improvement project for the iconic Tucson Convention Center delivered major upgrades across the entire facility, enhancing functionality, aesthetics, and the overall guest experience.

The first phase focused on revitalizing the plaza, transforming it into a welcoming gathering space with restored historic landscaping. Phase two introduced a brand-new parking garage and a 32,000 sf meeting room expansion to better serve large-scale events. The final phase brought extensive renovations to the existing music hall and arena—all completed while the facility remained fully operational in the heart of downtown Tucson.

Additionally, arena renovations included the installation of 2,080 new floor seats and approximately 4,860 upgraded fixed seats with cupholders, new event and house lighting, a state-of-the-art sound system, and two new scoreboards. Additional upgrades featured a redesigned breezeway entry, 14 fully renovated restrooms, new concession stands, updated electrical systems, ceiling tile replacements, repaired dasher mounting bolts and expansion joints, and new interior and exterior signage for improved wayfinding. Finishing touches included new soffits, ductwork repairs, guardrails, light fixtures, a privacy curtain, and custom perforated metal panels—creating a refreshed and modernized space for the community to enjoy for years to come.
